I was part of the Third Block Swap on Reddit recently, and just finished one of two polaroid quilts! This one is for my granddaughter.
Participants in the swap were organized in groups of 12, and we each made 48 basic Polaroid blocks, fussy cutting novelty prints into the subjects of the photos and then framing them with white.
We then sent sets of 4 blocks to each of the other 11 participants in our group, and we each received packages of four blocks from each of the other sewers!
I chose to further frame the basic photos with drop shadows in grey and black, giving me this result:
