Made for a dear friend of mine, this small art quilt is based on collagist Susan Carlson’s pattern and technique. I used mostly Kaffe Fassett prints for the turtle itself because these prints lend themselves so well to this technique.
After free motion quilting the piece, I used sashiko style quilting stitching in three floss colours to echo the form of the turtle.
The finished piece measures 19″ x 14.25″.
