This is a lap quilt for a dear gentleman who’s in a long term care home right now. It’s got strong, masculine colours, quite a bit of Nova Scotia tartan and a bonus panel of hockey skates on the back (Don played hockey into his 70s!) I added hearts to each side to help him remember that he is loved.
Big blocks made this a quick finish — I cut fat quarters into 9″ x 18″ blocks and staggered them in a brick pattern. Simple quilting finishes it off.
