This is the result of my first Stash Bee Quilt Block exchange, a year-long quilting project that brings together 11 people from across North America. Each of us was assigned a month, during which we were Queen Bee — we gave instructions for a block, up to 16.5″ square, that each of the others would make for us. On the […]
Flying Geese Quilt
Coral Stars
Coral is my favourite colour and I wanted to play with some wonky stars, so I’m working on this new quilt! It’s scrappy, because I had just bought all kinds of coral fabrics and couldn’t wait to deploy them. I played with a little sketch (which doesn’t do justice to just how scrappy this is going to be) but I […]
January Project Quilt finished
It’s done! Basted on my design wall, and quilted with a combination of walking foot straight lines along the blue portions and free motion quilted squiggles of various descriptions in the low volume squares.
January Project Quilt – basting
In an effort to clear up some unfinished quilts, (and to procrastinate about bigger projects I need to finish) I’m going to finish off my January Project Quilt. January Project
In between Christmas quilt finishes I’m continuing to work on January Project blocks. They’re so satisfying, partly because I’m using up scraps and partly because they’re so pretty!
January Project Quilt
I enjoyed working on the Diamonds on a String scrappy paper piecing quilt by Heather Kojan so much that I bought another of her scrappy patterns: January Project. It’s great to have something to work away on, and that I can totally make from my stash and scraps, and the 12″ blocks are nice and big. I chose to stay […]
Orange Peel Quilt finished!
Oh, I really love this one! It’s all done, and off to its new home in Toronto! Pieced and appliquéd by me, long armed by Lynn Jones of Lynn’s Quilting Studio and scrappy as hell.
More orange peel blocks
I’ve been making a few of these blocks every time I sew, and it’s so much fun! I try to keep all the peels connected through colour and mix up the background prints. I think I’ll try one block with pale peels against black prints!
